💻 Digital Art 📸
Illustrations/Paintings
I've worked on several pieces of digital art, and did a series that revolved around the theme of the world being "upside down." Some of the artworks take the
theme a little more literally, and some display more photorealistic images of issues that plague the world today.
These are a few select pieces from my digital works:
Palm Trees
Inspired by a picture my family sent me of the sky after several California wildfires.
Their Body, Their Choice
A poster-style graphic to hihglight the importance of the reproductive justice movement and the diversity in people the issue affects.
Golden Gate is Burning
Based on a news report I saw, of the view of the Golden Gate bridge amidst the California fires.
The World is Melting
Another poster-style graphic depicting the devastating effects of climate change. The world map is portrayed as a giant cracking glacier.

Collage/Image Manipulation
The pieces here were all done in Photoshop, which is ideal for creating artwork even outside of the illustration realm - such as collage or other works involving photographs/images. These all contain a mixture of images I had taken as well as hand-drawn elements.
Here are a few select pieces of this variety from my digital works:
The Upside Down
I took a photograph of Lake Waban and switched the sky and water - echoing the themes of apocolyptic chaos I wanted to focus on.
Hands Off
I took a picture of the lockers in Lulu, and distorted several aspects of it to add a bit of a fever dream quality to it. I also overlayed several images of my hands and placed them inside the lockers, to add a feeling of entrapment and chaos.
Lady Justice
I wanted to play with a typically accepted symbol and chose Lady Justice, experimenting with giving a different and more destructive meaning to her blindfold. In this, she is a hostage to a faceless man representing society and mankind.
